On May 14^th I checked into my housing where the interns of Busch Gardens stay. The complex is called the International Housing Village because it houses their international students. There are only a few Americans staying in the Village and they are from other parts of the country doing Leadership Internships. Most of the interns in the leadership program live in Virginia and do not stay in the Village. Each room sleeps 4 interns and it is a pretty small room.

On May 15^th I had my meeting with Human Resources where I had to show them all my identification. I was also fitted for my costume. Once finishing with Human Resources, I was given a tour of my area by two of the people who are ahead of me.

On May 16^th and every Wednesday after that, the Leadership Interns have to go to a weekly seminar where we will meet with the different heads of the organization. We also have to form a group of 4 people and create and purpose a new idea for Busch Gardens. Later that day I had Connections, which is the company’s orientation. They talked about the different parks under SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and other information. Then I had my first day off on May 17^th.

On May 18^th I had my second orientation which was Park Operations New Hire Orientation. There we talked about the different positions that are in the park. Grooming and costuming expectations and also general information about the restaurants, rides, and what to do in an emergency.

May 19^th and 20^th I have off and then starting May 21^st I have a full week of training.

So since the Disney College Program did not do a Summer Alumni Program this year I had to apply to internships at other theme parks. That being said, last week I was accepted to do a leadership internship at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Guest Relations this summer. That means that this summer my blog will be changing from the Disney College Program to my experience working for Busch Gardens.
